Why Don?
First let me say that when Don shows up, do not expect the normal contractor. He is a one of a kind guy who might catch you off guard at first, but as you follow his process you will find that he is a "Master" at what he does.
Don has been at my project now for a few weeks. I asked him to come help me try to fix 2 failed attempts at tiling my tub/shower area. I was not sure if the 3rd time was going to be a charm or not. All the tile that was there had to come off. He then repaired the walls and set out to lay it all out and retile. After about a day, I came to realize the precision by which he does his work. There is alot involved in tile, starting place, centering, non level surfaces, out of plumb, you name it I have it. Every tile he put up, at the end of the day you could eat off of them. I've worked with a lot of contractors and there are not many that leave a job like that.
It was decided that the floor needed a border. Of course my choice of tile was a floral marble border that set up for a total test of patience. He came up with a design to make it look absolutely smashing, as there were some issues going around the tub wall. He actually had to make little "PacMan" tiles out of the dots in one area. These border tiles were on a mesh sheet. He looked at several of those and said "Those are not even, I don't like it". Two bullnose tiles were also ripped off the wall as he didn't like the way "they felt".
Nothing is ever perfect, but at the end of the job, Don will get as close to it as possible. Beautiful, beautiful work.
Thank you for giving my property what is so deserves, after being here since 1724 and not lived in or cared for for 30 years.
